colin farm

In 2021 I launched a community arts initiative, Plein Air Sac. The goal was to highlight the Sacramento tradition of artists escaping into nature to be inspired by the many colors, textures, and changes in light. One location myself and a team of artists converged on was a farm in Davis, California we called Colin Farm (after the name of the family farmers who hosted us).

This series came about because of my walking the nearly 10-acre parcel with a viewfinder and a sketchpad. Capturing the many angles and taking fastidious notes, I returned to the studio and set out to create a new series of paintings.
