In the summer of 2021, shortly after launching Plein Air Sac, I was approached by a young man who ran a family farm with his dad and brother. He had seen some of my paintings hanging in Brasserie du Monde and had asked to be put in contact with me. After a few short sessions, he wanted me to make a painting for him and his fiancee.
After visiting their home, I was presented with a large white wall over a sprawling reclining area. I immediately knew I wanted to embark on a large-scale canvas to fill the void above their couch. So, after securing the commission, I spent the next three months completing this 8 1/2 feet wide by 8-foot canvas and installed it in their home.
The subject on the canvas was the very farm my client had spent so much time cultivating.
