Painted in Laguna, Brazil, the color these paintings capture the intensity of the summer sun on the southern Atlantic coast of South America as a contrast against the lively colors of the natural beauty of this quaint fishing community.

This series has come to mark a turning point in my artistic expression, as the idea of making paintings that are smaller in scale was something that I traditionally avoided. The smaller scale of these works forced me to overcome a new set of artistic challenges.
